Mangalam Anaicut got breached in 1984 during a flash flood on noyyal river.

At Vetry, we took up the challenge to revive this vital resource. In partnership with the Public Works Department, Tamil Nadu, and under the Self Sufficiency Scheme of Tamil Nadu, the anaicut has been fully rejuvenated in the year 2005. Through a focused approach combining sustainable water management and grassroots involvement, the anaicut today functions as a reliable and essential source of water actively supporting the needs of the local population.
